This free tutorial is suitable for confident beginner to intermediate sewers.  You should be comfortable with operating your sewing machine, using a walking foot, how to use a rotary cutter, installing a zipper.

I am so thankful for all my lovely long-term loyal customers. New horizons beckon for my retirement and I am ready to share all I know to make your own Bitzy Bob Bag.  Thank you to all the free tutorials out there! I modified and made it my own twist with the covered zipper!

I ask that you "purchase" for $0 because it allows me to easily send you updates if for any reason the PDF needs to be changed. Please do not share your PDF, but instruct interested stitchers to my website to get their own copy.

EQUIPMENT required:

Sewing Machine - Depending on the power of your machine, you may need a walking foot to handle the final top stitching of the Bitzy Bob. If you have a dual-feed machine like Janome or Bernina, you will be just fine!

Needles: Size 90/14

Bobbins: match your top thread - I use white or cream for all my project bag sewing

Rotary Cutter - 45 or 60mm - my fav is the Olfa 60mm. Treat yourself to a new blade to make the sewing experience so much more enjoyable.

Self-healing cutting mat - 18’x24” - I recommend 24”x 26” or larger if you have the space.

Quilting Rulers -I love my 12”x 24” and 8”x12”

Iron, pressing surface and cloth

Scissors: I wear my 4” curved scissors for trimming threads. Regular scissor for trimming bulk and zippers when finishing.

Turning Tool - I use an old craft paint brush to poke my corners.

Seam Ripper - For fixes and to make the holes for the magnetic snap.

Fabric  - 2 half-yards. Main print, secondary print. For Accent - fat quarter or scrap large enough to cut a 15x2 in piece

Zipper - 18 #3 nylon coil non-separating, closed-end zipper

Threads - standard thread weight is fine.

I use white or cream - feel free to use whatever color you like

Pellon 808 Craftfuse - 1 pkg - 15”x 4 yards (You only need a small piece, the rest will be stash)

Pellon 987F Fusible Fleece -  (1)22”x 36” package
